CBSE UGC NET 2017 admit card will be out on Dec 28

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will issue the admit card for UGC-NET 2017 to candidates from December 28 onward, the board said in a press note last week. The admit cards were to be issued on December 21 initially. The facility to download UGC NET admit card for January 2017 examination will be provided on the website www.cbsenet.nic.in for the registered candidates.

It may be noted that this time the NET examination is being conducted in January 2017 on 22nd, instead of the traditional December month, a direct after-effect of the June 2016 exam being held in July.

The National Eligibility Test (NET) which is held to determine the eligibility of Indian national aspirants for the posts of Assistant Professor in colleges and universities, and for Junior Research Fellowship, will be organised at 90 cities. The test centres will be allocated to candidates on the basis of preferred cities set by them in the application form.

On the day, test will be held in three sessions. Here’s the complete schedule the NET 2017 exam as given on the official website of the board.

The candidates are also required to secure minimum marks as per the set cut-off by the board to be termed as NET qualified. The cut-off marks vary for each paper. Take a look at the image to check the cut-off marks for each paper, and category-wise.

After the candidates have secured minimum required marks, a separate merit list is prepared subject-wise and category-wise using the aggregate marks of candidates in all 3 papers. The top 15% candidates in each subject and category-wise are announced NET qualified for Assistant Professor posts.

The list of candidates qualifying for JRF is prepared separately and depends on the numbers of candidates who opted for the same and secured the 15% slot or cut-off marks. You can check official notification for digging deep into that.
